I am Kate Younger and have been running The Comforts of Home Pet Care since 2013. I set up my business as I understand how difficult it can be to book your cat or dog into a cattery or kennels, and sometimes a dog walker isn't the easiest option. You may need to make arrangements at short notice or even have a pet for which there is no standard accommodation available, such as a rabbit or even a lizard.
I’m a pet owner myself and have a veterinary background. I have studied an animal care course at Kirkley Hall College and I am continuing to extend my knowledge by currently studying a distance learning course in Professional Pet Care and Veterinary Practice Assistant (diploma). As I am studying this course I am a student member of the International Society of Animal Professionals and once finished I will become a full time member of this society. I’ve taken qualifications in canine first aid, training and behaviour too.
I am also registered with the Nationwide Associates of Registered Pet Sitters (NarpsUK), am fully insured and DBS checked. My main concern is your pet’s comfort and safety so you can be confident that I will put them first when you are not available.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR HOME AND YOUR PETS
As part of my visit to your home, if you wish, I can pick up your post from the doormat and place it at a prearranged place in your home. I can check and water house plants and open and close curtains if you wish. These little extras are free of charge but can make a big difference to the security of your home and your peace of mind.
I OFFER A DISCREET PET SITTING SERVICE
Unlike some pet sitting franchises, I do not have a branded car. This is for your added home security as I feel I should not make it obvious to neighbours and passers-by who I am and therefore advertising that you’re not at home.
FULLY INSURED AND TRUSTWORTHY
When you give me your house keys you can rest assured I will look after them as if they were my own. Each client’s keys will have a key fob which will show my company contact details, not your address. That way if your keys are mislaid they cannot lead someone to your address and hopefully the finder can return them to me. I am however fully insured for the loss of keys.
